About The Threshold Geospatial Institute
TTGI – The Threshold Geospatial Institute was established with the goal to promote GIS and Remote Sensing technology among the youth of the country and make it a popular disciplinary and career choice among the youth at a time when new doors are opening up through technological advancements. Established in 2019 in Guwahati, TTGI an ISO 9001:2015 certified educational institute aims to be the threshold for the next generation of experts to step into this field.
Geography, archeology, civil engineering, urban planning, architecture, environmental conservation, meteorology, agriculture, military, telecommunications, oil and gas industry, etc. are just some of the fields where GIS and Remote Sensing tools can be applied to study and understand the existing situations, and plan and implement new strategies to improve the existing conditions as and when required. And that is what TTGI aims to make its trainees adept in, by making all the latest software and equipment available to them and training them to excel in their use and application. TTGI believes in providing hands-on practical training to ensure that its trainees are ready to participate actively in projects as soon as they join the workforce.
TTGI is one of its kind in north-east India as it aims to make technical education and skill development more accessible to aspiring individuals from all sections of the society by charging a reasonable fee from its trainees in exchange for the quality education and training that it provides.
Here at TTGI, we provide a personal touch to the training of young minds by maintaining a healthy faculty – trainee ratio, so that there is more scope for interaction and the process of learning is equitable for all the trainees. TTGI acts as a platform for the new entrants into this field of technology by providing them the space and opportunity to interact with and to learn from experts in this field.
Message from the Director
Having been trained in Geoinformatics and then working on a number of projects involving the application of geospatial technology, it is quite clear to me that there is immense scope of building a career in the field of geospatial science and technology in the years to come. Therefore, at TTGI, we strive to train interested individuals to be able to grasp every opportunity in this field that comes their way.
The Threshold Geospatial Institute was established with the vision of providing an accessible and safe space for the youth to explore and realize their interest in Geoinformatics and geospatial sciences and hone their skills through rigorous participatory academic activities and interaction. It is our motto to encourage our trainees to understand, question and critically evaluate the information that they are provided with and in the process, help them in shaping their own future career paths. At TTGI, we believe that learning should be an interesting and fruitful process, and we are dedicated towards making our trainees well informed and accomplished individuals in the field of Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing.
Our Faculty
At TTGI, we believe that learning is a two-way process which should NOT be dull and dry. We aim to make this process interesting, easy and fruitful for all our trainees with the help of our excellent faculty: a team of academically inclined professionals, dedicated to their work. Our interactive and accessible training courses enables the learner to make the most of the knowledge provided by our faculty who are passionate about this discipline and whose lessons reflect their enthusiasm, ethical values and sincerity towards their work.
